GREEN FLEET will sail 3 races in the morning. No race will start after 1pm.
420 FLEET will have the same start but be scored as two separate divisions:
(A) sail with trapeze and spinnaker,
(B) collegiate style, no trapeze or spinnaker
Competitors are to BRING A LUNCH.
5. Class Flags: Class Flags will be:

one (1) hour before the scheduled start time.
Combinations in the courses listed can be made at the discretion of the Race Committee
COURSE INFORMATION
W/L # (P) means Windward/Leeward, Number of Legs, Port roundings.
T # (P) means Triangle, Number of Legs, Port roundings.
T # (P)+W/L # (P) means Triangle, Number of Legs, Port roundings plus Windward/Leeward, Number of Legs, Port roundings.
· Races will start by a dinghy starting sequence: Three minutes, two minutes, one minute, thirty seconds, twenty seconds, ten seconds, starting horn. This changes Appendix Q.
· The starting line will be between a staff displaying an orange flag or shape on the race committee boat and the starting mark.
· Boats whose warning signal has not been made shall keep clear of the starting area and of all boats in the starting area whose warning signal has been made.
10. Recalls
· Individual recall will be signaled in accordance with RRS 29.2. In addition, the race committee will attempt to hail each boat that has not started correctly. Failure to make or hear such hail will not be grounds for redress.
· General recalls will be signaled in accordance with RRS 29.3.
11. The Finish: The finish line will be between a staff flying an orange flag or shape on a race committee boat and the finishing mark.
12. Time Limit: The time limit shall not exceed one (1) hour for each race. No races will start after 4:00 p.m. Any changes to time limits will be posted on the ONB.
13. Penalties, Protests, and Request for Redress:
· Penalties: Rule 44.2 will be amended to “One Turn Penalty,” a complete turn including one tack and one gybe in the same direction.
· The requirement to display a red protest flag is waived. However, hailing “Protest” to the violator is still required, as is informing the race committee at the finish.
· Protest forms are available at the host clubhouse. Protests shall be delivered there within sixty (60) minutes after the time the race committee docks. The same protest time limit applies to any protest by the race committee or request for redress. However, the race committee may accept protests submitted later at their own discretion.
· Protest notices will be posted within ten (10) minutes after the protest time limit has expired or earlier to inform where and when there is a hearing in which they are parties to a protest or named as witnesses.
14. Scoring:
· The low-scoring system, Appendix A, will apply.
· DNF and DNS will be scored as last place plus one (1) place and can be dropped.
· DSQ will be scored as last place plus 1 (1).
· A DSQ, resultant from a failed equipment inspection, shall not be excluded for any reason regardless of the number of races completed. This changes RRS 88.3b.
· Scoring will be based on the number of registered for each
Interclub. Opti Fleets will be scored as overall.
15. Safety Equipment:
· The race committee reserves the right to call for an inspection at any time.
· Each racing yacht shall have the following equipment on board:
i. Life jackets and whistles shall be worn by all competitors at all times.
ii. All yachts shall have their sail number on both sides of their sail.
iii. All Optis are required to have on board standard equipment as per USODA regulations.
iv. All other classes are required to have a painter (tow line) readily available at all times. It should be at least thirty (30’) feet long and of sufficient strength to tow a swamped boat.
16. Withdrawal from Race: The race committee must be notified of withdrawal from the race. The committee will endeavor to account for all entered boats. If a boat does not start or fails to finish, the skipper shall report to the Race committee or Patrol boat before leaving the course. Any boat withdrawing from the race without proper notice is subject to protest by the race committee and as a result thereof may be ineligible to compete for the next two (2) races.
17. Equipment and Measurement Checks: A boat or equipment may be inspected at any time for compliance with the class rules and sailing instructions. On the water, a boat can be instructed by a race committee member to proceed immediately to a designated area for inspection. Code flag “L” displayed at the finish indicates a mandatory inspection. Boats whose class flag(s) have been displayed are required to respond by checking in with a patrol boat or a committee boat for inspection.

19. Disclaimer of Liability: Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See RRS4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after any race, regatta or series.
